About Us
The Beginning
A cat or a dog? That was our first question when we decided to add a family pet. We ended up agreeing on a dog.
After research, which included attending a dog show in Saskatoon, we had found a breeder and settled on a Golden Retriever. March 1994 the whole family piled into the van and headed on a roadtrip to Calgary, AB to pick up their first puppy! 9 weeks old and as cute as can be we welcomed Shayna (means Loved and Adored) to the family.
Getting Started
Several years later we moved to Houston, BC and found a great friend and mentor in Tanya of Afire Golden Retrievers. Through her help and guidance we had our first litter in 1999, 7 healthy puppies!
From that litter, Jacquie kept a puppy. Her first dog, named Maxx - Ch. Nadina's Life To The Maxx. Together they learned about grooming, dog shows, and so much more. They attended their first dog show in May 2000 and together Maxx won Best Puppy In Show! Jacquie was hooked.
Naturally we needed to add to the family, and it was at this time we found Steve and Christine of Mostabear. When the timing was right we added Flirt to the family. Flirt quickly earned her Championship with Jacquie to become Ch. Mostabear's Suite Flirtation MPIG.
Continuing On
Over the next several years Flirt became our foundation on so many levels. Jacquie and Beth continued to learn all they could about dogs, breeding, shows, grooming and so much more.
The whole family was involved in raising several litters, as well as keeping a puppy as time and space allowed
We continued to keep a close relationship with Mostabear and have enjoyed and appreciated their continued help and support. They have been and continue to be a very big part in the Nadina Golden story. You will often find us out at dog shows together.
